CREDIT

I've said that i was not going to quibble about leading this effort, but in case it isn't fully clear that doesn't mean i think i'm the only one who has anything to contribute here. Everyone who puts in a reasonable level of participation in this exercize will be credited appropriately in all of our 'documentation'. I'm being so adamant about the fact that I *AM* leading this effort, instead of having a 'democratic' committee lead it, just to head off wasted time in decision making and to ensure that we don't shake ourselves apart and get side-tracked. Anyone who grows dissatisfied with my leadership style is free to critique it publicly. I'm sure that if i get TOO heavy handed the people who are currently signed up to support this activity will go elsewhere. I don't want that to happen and I actually DO respect the input of everyone on the team so I'm sure that will come through at all times.

As the leader of this activity, I have placed the full support of my company, SpectraMediaTech, Inc. behind it. We are certainly hoping to find sponsors for our web pages, etc., but IF any activity of this 'thing' requires an out of pocket expense, SMT-Inc will cover that expense directly. One of my goals here is to insure that there is NO expense for the students who wish to participate in ANY of this stuff, so dues, collections to cover any necessary expenses, etc. are OUT. I don't expect there to be very many associated direct expenses anyway, but if I'm bold enough to be so aggressive about being in charge, I expect to BE expected to put my money where my typing fingers are to keep this activity alive. I am perfectly happy to do this.

NAME THAT TOON

We don't have a name for this 'thing', and I am personally uncomfortable seeing it referred to as "Radar's project", etc., in email exchanges that I've seen.

I thought of: MacOS Education Resources for Developers and Engineers. Anybody speak French out there :-). :-). Seriously, we WILL need a name for this. Please put your thinking caps on. Maybe we SHOULD use MERDE just so we NEVER forget that this is supposed to be FUN ................ Don't worry. I KNOW that MOST people's sense of humor is NOT that well developed. I'm NOT seriously suggesting we use it :-).
