THIS activity WILL remain non-commercial, community-benefit oriented as long as I am associated with it. PERIOD. Of course, if some public spirited company came along and wanted to pay us money to do what we're going to do anyway you can bet we'd be happy to accept it, but I don't see THAT happening. I'm NOT in this for money, but I'm NOT a total fool either :-). Opinions on THAT topic are not being solicited. ;-)

Our first project will be a "hello universe" program (for want of a better name). A short summary of the project is below. Details in my usual verbose style will be in Education #6.

The "hello universe" project will be an attempt to create a superset of the "hello world" program that is frequently used to introduce people to a programming environment. In this case, we will make the program illustrate all significant aspects of "the basic mac program".

We will then produce the same program using a variety of tools, languages, frameworks, etc. We may well put ALL of them onto a CD as a comparative reference tool, eventually.
