This is a summary of the summary of the copyright discussion held during the original formation of The MOST. It seems that something everyone can live with happily is putting all the source code for the lessons into the public domain. We will not put the lesson plans themselves in the public domain.
"Public Domain" status for the source code provides the following benefits:
The actual implementation of Public Domain is fairly easy: it requires the author(s) to put a notice on the code/page saying something similar to "This code is granted to the public domain by <first name surname>."
Where we use materials produced independently by someone other than explicitly for The MOST, we recognize that they maintain all rights to those materials.
