I have C and C++ skills, but no Mac programming skills. I am finding the MacOS a bit of a bear, actually- but I do have a specific program that I'd like to develop, strictly for non-profit. A specific project is, to my mind, a superior way to really learn about a new environment.

My app is for the AATF- the American Association of Teachers of French; specifically, it is for the administration of the National French Contest, Le Grand Concours, which the AATF sponsors. This year, I scored over 72,000 answer sheets for them.

They need a mini-database application to generate school/teacher codes for their Chapter Administrators. I have written this, in DOS and 16 and 32-bit Windows. But they have a number of Macs scattered around (many are older 68K machines), and I get many requests to provide a Mac native version.

This app must read/write to three small (yes, they really are small) dBase III+ files. The user edits two of these three. The program gives the user an arbitrary number to use to represent one individual teacher, and allows a list of these to be printed. A copy function must be included to keep a floppy updated with data changes, which I read back into a master Paradox database on a PC.

This is not a complex app, nor is it incredibly simple; I do in fact really need it (by next February); and it is not for profit. I am NOT paid to develop it, but I do have money for tools.
