Hidden Terminal Commands For Your Mac OSX

The Mac OSX has all kinds of little secrets that you can use to perform different functions. This post will be specific to games you can play with hidden terminal commands for your Mac OSX.

This may not be earth shattering for many that are savvy to using the terminal commands but can be fun for those that are not aware of the hidden functions.

Mac OSX has several games that are available using simple instructions that are available by typing in short requests into the terminal.

The terminal can be found in the utilities, but it’s easier just to do a spotlight search.

After the terminal comes up type emacs without any quotes (then hit return) after that, a bunch of writing comes up. Press the escape key at the top left of the keyboard.

Then simply type the letter x.

You can then choose from several different games. Type in any one of the following: snake, pong, tetris, or doctor, and press the return key and begin.

You use the arrow keys to control most of the games. The doctor game is funny because you type in something that is bothering you and it plays as if it is a psychologist.

Each time you want to start a new game you’ll need to open up a new window. Simple games for wasting a little time and having fun.
